Splitting her time between London and Liverpool, R&B pop artist DRCY creates music that touches on topics ranging from love, lust, heartbreak and everything in between. As a teenage girl trying to navigate her way through life, her songs are raw, honest and vulnerable, allowing listeners to connect with her on a deeper level.
Influenced by the likes of Mahalia, Daniel Caesar and Olivia Dean, the track shimmers with buttery vocals which melt atop a groovy upbeat bassline and Jazzy instrumentation, resulting in the ultimate move-inducing, vibey anthem.
Hoping to encourage others to live unapologetically themselves, the songwriter confides, “For so long I have cared about what other people think of me. Insecurities held me back for so long, I just need to own it now. I want my music to inspire people to feel good in their own skin, to feel sexy in their own skin. And I hope that everyone who listens to my music knows that life is not as serious as you’ve been told.”
